The idea for Secrets of Top PI's came about when PI Mike Newman,
one of the nation's leading Skip Tracers, an investigator known for his ability to locate hundreds
of hard-to-find people every week, suggested Hoover and Adkins produce an instructional video
for aspiring PI's. No current informational or educational video for newcomers to the investigative
business existed at the time and was especially needed, Newman stated. He would lend his
experience and technical know-how to the project.
The team sought out a dozen of the nation's top experts: the best in each of the major investigative fields.
The PI's and search experts were advised the questions asked would be aimed at indoctrinating newcomers
to the PI industry.
Each investigator was filmed unrehearsed, in his or her unique work environment. Without exception,
and to their unending credit, each professional was open, forthright, and candid in their responses to often
pointed and penetrating questions.
